It’s about a 30-minute flight from Ishigaki Island to this island. The island itself is not big, so arriving in the morning and heading back at night on a day-trip plan is more than enough. The highlight is the swordfish sashimi—you probably won’t find it anywhere else in the world (and even if you do, this is undoubtedly the best). Overall, this island doesn’t feel like Japan (in the best possible way). I enjoyed a leisurely, unhurried time here.
