This island has both of nature and resort city. You can enjoy local dishes and music in restaurants and most beautiful beaches in the world. Moreover, this island is the entrance of many beautiful Yaeyama-islands. I recommend island hopping from this island. Most interesting islands are Hateruma, Yonaguni, which are the Japan's westernmost and southernmost islands.

1. Yonaguni Island 30 mins air ride from Ishigaki island. Here is the Japan's the westernmost place. Yonaguni-horse is walking on the street. Sword fish's sashimi is famous.
2. Hateruma Island 4hours ship ride from Ishgaki port. Japan's the southernmost inhabited island. It has the most beautiful beach in Yaeyama, but little bit dangerous for snorkering.
3. Iriomote Island 45 mins ship ride from Ishigaki port. World nature heritage island. There are lots of unique species.
